
Teacher – SEN Education | SEMH | Canterbury
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN provision in Canterbury seeking a committed and resilient SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a school that specialises in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours.
This well-established specialist setting provides a structured, therapeutic learning environment for students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. With small class sizes, strong pastoral support, and a focus on relationship-building, the school prioritises both academic progress and personal development.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

Manage and support pupils displaying challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies

Work closely with LSAs, therapists, and senior leadership to implement EHCPs and behaviour plans

Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment

Track and monitor student progress, adapting teaching approaches where required
The Ideal Candidate
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
-
Experience working with SEMH, PRU, or SEN settings is highly desirable
-
Confident classroom management and de-escalation skills
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – Essential
Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
£170 – £260 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
