Teacher – SEN Education | SEMH | Canterbury

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN provision in Canterbury seeking a committed and resilient SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a school that specialises in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours.

This well-established specialist setting provides a structured, therapeutic learning environment for students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. With small class sizes, strong pastoral support, and a focus on relationship-building, the school prioritises both academic progress and personal development.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

  • Manage and support pupils displaying challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies

  • Work closely with LSAs, therapists, and senior leadership to implement EHCPs and behaviour plans

  • Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment

  • Track and monitor student progress, adapting teaching approaches where required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with SEMH, PRU, or SEN settings is highly desirable

  • Confident classroom management and de-escalation skills

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – Essential

Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students

£170 – £260 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
