
SEMH Specialist ( Behaviour Support ) – Canterbury
Are you experienced in supporting young people with challenging behaviour and looking to transition into a specialist education setting?
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly supportive specialist SEMH provision in Canterbury, seeking passionate and resilient SEMH Specialists to join their dedicated support team.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience working with young people in settings such as youth work, residential care, mentoring, sports coaching, outreach, or behaviour support. Direct school experience is desirable but not essential.
The Role:

Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

Building strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and personal development

Assisting teaching staff in delivering structured and supportive learning environments

Implementing behaviour support and intervention strategies

Monitoring student progress and contributing to support plans
What we’re looking for:

Have experience working with young people displaying challenging behaviour (in any relevant setting)

Are calm, patient, and resilient when managing behaviours that challenge

Are passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to success

Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Can work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
£90 – £100 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
5 day per week availability ( Mon – Fri )
