
Learning Support Assistant | SEMH
Canterbury, Kent – ASAP
We are working closely with a specialist SEN provision in Canterbury who are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
This Learning Support Assistant role is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who require consistency, patience, and positive role modelling within a structured and nurturing environment.
The Role:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis

Assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour support, and social development

Helping students engage with learning through adapted and differentiated activities

Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

Supporting pupils with routines, transitions, and personalised support plans
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Previous experience working with SEMH and/or ASC (school or alternative provision experience desirable)

A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies

A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
£90 – £100 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
